Natural Remedy For Adult-Onset Allergies
Learn how to treat the CAUSE of adult-onset allergy with just one natural remedy: home-made milk kefir.
A number of people close to me – all adults – have developed allergies lately and asked me to recommend natural remedies for allergies.
So what’s an allergy? Allergy is a hypersensitive response of the immune system to an allergen. The onset time of allergies varies. The severity of the allergic response differs, in some cases, an allergic reaction can be severe and even life-threatening.
Considering all the variables, I don’t recommend natural remedies for the relief of allergies. Especially in emergency situations, conventional medical treatment is faster and more effective. (I’m not about to put anyone’s life at risk.)
With that said, I believe that adult-onset allergy is a symptom of a weakened – not defective – immune system. As much as I don’t believe in the speed and reliability of natural remedies in the treatment of allergies (in particular, severe allergies), I’m a firm believer in strengthening the immune system which in adult-onset allergy has suddenly become hypersensitive.
One of the best “cures” for a weakened immune system is home-made milk kefir. The logic behind this recommendation is quite simple.
The center of the immune system is the digestive system. A healthy digestive system supports strong immune system. Home-made milk kefir is rich in live probiotics, beneficial bacteria that facilitate digestion. By restoring healthy digestion, you’ll empower and balance your immune system. It will become more disease resistant and much less sensitive to allergens.
If you suffer from allergies and are currently taking medication to control allergy symptoms, by all means continue. Rebuilding your digestive health with home-made milk kefir won’t interfere with your allergy medication. With regular consumption of home-made kefir, you’re likely to notice that your allergy produces less and less symptoms. As the symptoms subside, you’ll be able to gradually cut down on your allergy medication and quite possibly, eventually won’t need it, at all.
What is kefir?
In short, kefir is a cousin of yogurt, yet another fermented milk drink. Unlike yogurt however, kefir is uncooked.
There are two important things you need to know.
- Commercially available yogurt or kefir contains very little or no live probiotics. This is why I recommend home-made milk kefir.
- For comparison: yogurt contains 2-6 beneficial bacteria strains, kefir contains DOZENS of them!
Curious about the benefits of kefir?
Milk kefir has both antibiotic and antifungal properties. Milk kefir helps to fight high blood pressure and high cholesterol, allergies, Candida albicans’ overgrowth (vaginal yeast infections), digestive problems including: gallbladder problems, osteoporosis, and more. For more obvious reasons, kefir is effective at relieving anxiety and sleeplessness. Better yet, because kefir is so abundant in digestive enzymes even people who have trouble digesting milk, usually have no difficulty digesting kefir.
The “Champaign of Milk”, kefir, is a true health food with incredible healing properties.
Kefir is credited for its ability to relieve gastritis, pancreatitis, complications due to kidney stones, numerous skin conditions, gum disease, IBS, and a lot more!
Where to get live organic milk kefir grains?
Online! Years ago, we bought our first batch on Etsy. (You buy two tablespoons which will produce about a cup of kefir. With time the grains multiply…)
To summarize:
Allergies come in many varieties and affect all age groups. An allergy is a set of symptoms. Conventional treatment of allergies controls the SYMPTOMS of allergy. Regular consumption of home-made kefir may not control the symptoms of allergy but its CAUSE: the weakened and overly sensitive immune system.
